Statement: In my opinion, Money and Power is corrupting the Political Scene in the
United States. This corruption is fueled by Lobbyist and Special Interest
Groups.
This corruption exist within BOTH the Republican and Democrat
Parties. I think that most Americans today do not realize just how good
they have it. The fact is that we do live in a Global-Economy, and some
jobs are effected more than others, but it would be unfair to subsidize one
occupation on the backs of other occupations. This is supposed to be
a land of equal opportunity. Lawmakers often make changes that can
hurt the livelihood of some claiming its the right thing to do for others.
State elected Politicians should be only concentrating on the conditions
and needs of the people and businesses within their own State, following
the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Federal Government. Federal elected
Politicians should concentrate on those same guidelines that affect the
State that they are from, but also be directly involved with the decisions
that effect our own Countries interest in competing with the Global
Economy, as well as, other issues of the world.
On the Federal side of things, this "being-able-to-compete" includes the
assumption that we (as a people) are able to live our lives, with reasonable
freedoms, without a war in our own backyard. So far, this still is reality
as of today, but this doesn't carry a guarantee in the future unless the
people in the United States remain "united" with a common purpose.
My fear is today we have too many "loose-cannons" in the political arena
who are "ripping-up" America, with the support of the News-Media, who
are acting more like "extremist" which is causing Americans to be Divided,
at the very same time Americans need to be United. When it comes to
making your choice this coming November, take a real hard look at the big
picture of the world. In the United States, your Freedoms are still pretty
much intact, you still have a lot of choices that you can make.
Don't make your choice on the basis that this politician is simply bashing
or knocking the other guy. Make your decisions on who is going to ( in
your mind ) will:
1.) Keep your freedoms intact,
2.) Keep the war on terrorism out of your backyard,
3.) Keep our Economy going up,
4.) And, what are they really planning to do ( if elected ) that may or
may/not effect your livelihood, and how are they going to fund it?
What bothers me more than anything is the extreme biased reporting
of our elected Governmental politicians by the News-Media, as if they
have their own seperate agenda. They are only proving that "freedom
of speech" does exist in the USA today. The worst and most opinionated
commutator ( I feel ) is Keith Olbermann of the program "Countdown"
which is aired on MSNBC. Every evening he vomits-out his HATRED and
DISRESPECT of our own GOVERNMENT. In my opinion, he is a "loose-
cannon" that has the full intention of tearing apart the faith that Americans
should have in our elected officials.
He is not alone. Many commutators on many shows are "very-biased"
and want to undermine our current Government. They put much blame
onto the decisions made by the Republicans who are serving "Special-
Interest Groups" and Lobbyist. Are they implying that the Democrats
have NO "Special-Interest Groups" or Lobbyist that call on them????
There is an old saying in sales... If you throw enough "sh-t" on the wall,
some of it is bound to stick! Many Americans have lost our faith in our
Government because of the sheer volume of baised opinions that are
constantly being "aired" on many shows, including shows that are often
funded by "tax-payers" ( NPR and PBS ). The IRS threatens to remove
the "tax-exempt" status from churches and organizations ( not funded
by taxpayers ) who appear to have a political agenda, however, NPR and
PBS "do" receive a substantial amount of funding from Governmental
taxation ( the tax-payer ), and they too are "tax-exempt", but they are
certainly allowing many of their own commutators to be very "biased"
on much of their own programming. |
